Dolma Bedi-Bindra is an international banker by profession and has over twelve years of experience with some of the world’s leading banks such as Hongkong Shanghai Bank, Wells Fargo, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Nova Scotia. During the course of her career, she has focused on empowering women, improving their human rights and facilitating gender equality. She has also worked with women entrepreneurs by organizing several high profile trade missions.
Since 2012 Dolma has leveraged her substantive knowledge of the developing world to transform lives primarily in rural Western Kenya. Here she has helped empower citizens in the community of Bungoma district by teaching them basic solar lamp assembly, vermin composting, bio mass briquetting and other basic facets of sustainable entrepreneurship. Dolma has lived and travelled across more than thirty countries, primarily in Asia and Africa. Currently a resident of Manila, Philippines, she continues to devote her time to both understanding and facilitating small and sustainable solar energy projects in the country. She has a degree in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis and is fluent in three Asian languages. She is currently studying two more– Kiswahili and Tagalog.
